Project Description
The Cyber Range Exploit Development Project aims to create engaging exercises that will significantly enhance the educational value of Western Washington University's Cyber Range. These exercises will empower students of all ages, from middle school to college, by providing hands-on experience with cybersecurity, penetration testing, and security best practices. Our goal is to expand the Cyber Range's learning experiences, increasing its value and appeal. We're building a framework for reproducible exploits that let students directly apply classroom knowledge, offering a unique, "a la carte" selection of exercises that reinforce Computer Information System Security concepts. The gamification of the system, with scoreboards and varying difficulty, fosters engagement and competition. Ultimately, this project will equip students with essential skills, broaden the Cyber Range's reach, and make it a valuable tool for businesses to test their security protocols.
